*Additional Methods of Gaining Zophan Canisters/Gold Poké:
**Zophan Canisters may <u>only</u> be obtained via direct purchase, or trading with other players who purchased it directly.
**Zophan Canisters may only be obtained via direct purchase, from Daily Task chains, or trading with other players.

**Other methods of obtaining either are not supported at this time.

*Buying Items directly with Interaction Points: Aside from the Albino Radar, this is not a planned feature.
*Currency Trading as an official site function: Users can purchase Credits and Gold Poké with Zophan Canisters.  Aside from that, users may trade between themselves for currencies.
*Currency Trading (as an official site function): No, other than purchasing Credits and Gold Poke with Zophan Canisters.  However, users may trade between themselves to obtain these currencies.

DayCare
DayCare
*EXP Delay Item: You have to have consequences for breeding.
*EXP Delay Item: The daycare itself is free to use; the cost of breeding is that Pokémon gain XP.
*EXP Lock Blocks Daycare EXP: Everything has to have *some* cost to it, otherwise you get runaway inflation. In this case, the "cost" of breeding is that they extremely slowly level up and need replacing.
*EXP Lock Blocks Daycare EXP: The daycare itself is free to use; the cost of breeding is that Pokémon gain XP.

Events
Events
*Keep Kinaster's MiniGame Permanently: It won't be the last time the minigame will show up in events. But in the meantime, it (and other event minigames) will remain vaulted.
*Keep Any Event's Mini-game Permanently: Mini-games will be vaulted and unvaulted to appear in events as something to look forward to for each event.
*Make Tournament Egg a Target Score: I'm sorry but this would utterly destroy the Tournaments feature and the entire economy around it.
*Make Tournament Prize Egg a Target Score: This would destabilize the Tournament rewards system significantly.
*PFQ Mega Vote In: Would double or triple the art teams workload and then have them throw half or more of it away.
*Story Events Ideas: Due to legal reasons we cannot accept user suggestions for story content. This falls under the same category as user-suggested Pokémon.
*Story Events Ideas: Due to legal reasons we cannot accept user suggestions for story content. This falls under the same category as user-suggested Pokémon.
*Type Race Teams: This suggestion has been asked as both Allowing the users to choose their team and "Signup then be assigned a Team. The short answer to these suggestions is No, Every team is equal. It can also be subject for abuse, drama and toxicity.

*Allowing an Egg Field for Extra Eggs: The easy solution is to hatch the eggs you already have before making the "I have too many eggs" problem worse.
*Allowing an Egg Field for Extra Eggs: Users can only keep eggs in their party; if a user wants more eggs than they can currently carry in their party, they must hatch some first.
*Disable Pokémon Movement: Unnecessary.
*Disable Pokémon Movement: Unnecessary. If users would like to stop Pokémon in fields from moving, QOL keeps them in place.
*Feed All Pokémon: No.  Just no.
*Feed All Pokémon: This would destabilize the game as a whole, both in terms of server load and gameplay/reward balance.
*Hiding Fields Once All Pokémon Have Been Clicked: Not necessary for the majority of players, and would prevent viewing Pokémon that have already been clicked.
*Hiding Fields Once All Pokémon Have Been Clicked: Not necessary for the majority of users, and would prevent users from viewing Pokémon that have already been clicked.
*Larger Fields: If more space for Pokémon is needed, please buy another Field or release Pokémon from current Fields.
*Larger Fields: If more space for Pokémon is needed, users must buy another Field or release Pokémon from current Fields.
*Reduce Cost of Purchasing Fields: The exponential nature of the field price is adequate and not in need of changing, even now. It's something that's stood up remarkably well to the gradual inflation of PFQ's economy!
*Reduce Cost of Purchasing Fields: Despite the gradual inflation of Pokéfarm's economy, the exponential increase of buying new fields helps maintain game balance.
*Retain Selected Berry in Next Field: Unnecessary - it's one click to select the Berry again.  Also, this would be official promotion of sorting fields by Berry preference.
*Retain Selected Berry in Next Field: This would be an official promotion of sorting fields by berry.
*Stack All Pokémon: Field organization is the purview of the player. No particular organization is promoted by PFQ. You may also use skin CSS to do this for yourself or the QoL Userscript.
*Stack All Pokémon: Field organization is the purview of the player. No particular organization is promoted by PFQ. Users may use skin CSS or the QoL Userscript to do this instead.
*Unstack All Pokémon: Field organization is the purview of the player. No particular organization is promoted by PFQ. A grid view was introduced to see all Pokémon without actually changing their locations. You can also do this yourself with CSS or the QoL Userscript.

These Suggestions are in regards to Shiny, Albino, or Melanistic Hunting.
*Automatic/Guaranteed Melan: Why bother spending IP to charge the Albino Radar if you're guaranteed a Melan every 5k?
*Automatic/Guaranteed Melan: If users are guaranteed a Melan at any point in their hunt, they would be deincentivized to charge their Albino Radar.
*Hereditary Shinies: Eggs from Shiny Pokémon have the same chance to hatch special as Eggs from non-Shiny Pokémon, because there's no need to make Shiny Hunting any easier than it already is.
*Hereditary Shinies: Eggs from Shiny Pokémon have the same chance to hatch special as Eggs from non-Shiny Pokémon.

*Add a Drop Chance for Lucky Eggs through Scours or Boxes: No.
*Add a Drop Chance for Lucky Eggs through Scours or Boxes: This would unbalance the game.
*Nature Changing Item: It would indeed be too powerful, as it totally nukes an aspect of the game economy.
*Nature Changing Item: This would unbalance a core aspect of the game economy.
*Rare Candy: PFQ's equivalent is the Cookie, obtainable from Events and purchasing Zophan Canisters.
*Rare Candy: PFQ's equivalent is the Cookie, obtainable from Events.
*Recharging Uber Charms: The ability to recharge Uber Charms would remove revenue from PFQ.  Ubers are deliberately priced low enough that buying 1 a month is not a heavy burden to most players.
*Recharging Uber Charms: The ability to recharge Uber Charms would remove revenue from PFQ.

Mobile Users
Mobile Users
*Mobile Platform PFQ: PFQ may be playable on a mobile platform, but its primary design is for PCs.
*Mobile App: This would require a significant investment of money and time, as the app's development would need to be outsourced.
*Toggle Auto rotate: Auto-rotate is normally a default feature in mobile devices. Websites don't have that kind of control over your operating system anyway.
*Toggle Auto rotate: Auto-rotate is controlled by a user's phone settings; websites cannot override that setting.

Public Forums
Public Forums
*Ability to Delete Own Posts: Easily subject to abuse by Users.
*Ability to Delete Own Posts: Forum posts and PMs need to persist for the safety of the players, and to ensure that the Terms of Service are not being violated. Any individual forum post that is deleted is first reviewed by a Moderator.
*BBCode to Count Pokémon in Fields: Enormous draw on Sally to count Pokémon.  Because it's Sally that does the counting, not the BBCode.
*Allowing players other than the Original Poster to edit a forum post: This would invite violations of the Terms of Service, particularly if players had a falling out or otherwise disagreed.
*Custom Userbars with Pokémon: Both unnecessary and would require designing, programming and maintaining several thousand userbar variants.
*BBCode to Count Pokémon in Fields: This would put an extremely heavy load on the server in order for the BBCode to return the correct number.
*Custom Userbars with Pokémon: This would require designing, programming and maintaining several thousand userbar variants.
*Downvoting: Downvotes will not be added outside of reviews.
*Downvoting: Downvotes will not be added outside of reviews.
*Emoticons/Emoji/Smilies: People end up spamming these.  And then we forum-lock them for spam.  And then people keep spamming.  Much as we'd like these ourselves, we dislike spam more.
*Extend Journal Deletion Timeframe: Journals last up to 3 months of inactivity, which is significantly longer than normal threads.
*Extend Journal Deletion Timeframe: They already last longer than normal threads. They last 12 full weeks of inactivity, that's 3 months, and seems more than reasonable to me.
*Granting Thread-Specific Mod Powers to Users: The Mod team goes through an application and approval process, and users are not permitted to "Mini-mod." If a user sees a post that shouldn't be in a thread, they should use the Report button.
*Granting Thread-Specific Mod Powers to Users: Mods go through an application process and training for a reason. Also, just because a thread would have a "Thread Mod" assigned, doesn't mean a real Mod wouldn't still need to keep an eye on it.  No one should be using the term "Thread Mod" anyway.
*Search Feature: Full Thread Post of Reasons. **Any internal search function would result in additional site lag. Google Search can fulfill this function by entering "site:pokefarm.com" before your search term(s).
*Search Feature: Full Thread Post of Reasons.
*Subscribing to Entire Forums/Sub-Forums: This would put strain on the server and increase server costs significantly.
*Subscribing to Entire Forums/Sub-Forums: Prohibitive server costs to monitor data for all forums.

Party
Party
*Egg Locking to Prevent Accidental Hatching: This is what Egg Passes are for.
*Egg Locking to Prevent Accidental Hatching: Users are shown a warning before hatching an egg that would break their shiny chain. Users may use Egg Passes to hatch eggs that would break their chain.
*Instant Hatching: The central activity of the site is interacting with others in order to have them assist you in hatching your Eggs.  Any item, whether bought with Credits or Zophan Canisters, that instantly hatches your Eggs would cheapen this activity. The EXP. Share and Egg Timer also already boosts your hatching speed.
*Instant Hatching: Pokéfarm's core mechanic revolves around interacting with other users' eggs and Pokémon; any item that allowed instant hatching would hurt the game experience. The EXP. Share and Egg Timer can be used to boost hatching speed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We DO NOT accept player suggestions for new Pokémon designs. This includes Megas, Hybrids, Fusions, Exclusives, Variant, New Evolutions, Custom Sprites, and Beta Pokémon Suggestions. This is for Important Legal Reasons, like right-to-use and potentially contracting with minors.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Pokéfarm DOES NOT accept player suggestions for new Pokémon designs for legal reasons. This includes Megas, Hybrids, Fusions, Exclusives, Variant, New Evolutions, Custom Sprites, and Beta Pokémon Suggestions.
*Adding Placeholder Sprites to Image Gallery: PFQ's Graphics Team has as a whole declined to have their placeholder sprites (also known as Derpmons) preserved in the Image Gallery.
*Beta Pokémon: Beta Pokémon's designs were changed before their official release for a reason; as a Pokémon fan site, the Staff feel that it would be disrespectful to go against those reasons.
*Beta Pokémon: If things were removed or changed from the beta, then it was for a reason. Bringing those beta forms back is highly disrespectful to the creators. And since this fan-project is all about showing support and love for the creators of Pokémon, I'd really rather not be so rude.
*Changing Gender: This would make obtaining rare-gender Pokémon much easier, and unbalance the game.
*Changing Gender: This would make it too easy to obtain rare-gender Pokémon.
*Community polling regarding Pokémon sprites: Sprites will be adjusted and/or recoloured as needed in order to keep up with developments in the Pokémon franchise and in accordance with the growing experience of the Art Team. Implementing community polls regarding these visual updates would adversely affect the ability of the Art Team to output content in a timely manner, without being an effective means of addressing the desires of the community as a whole.
*Disabling Evolution: This is what a little thing called an "Everstone" is for.
*Disabling Evolution: Users can give their Pokémon an Everstone to prevent evolution.
*Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing: The current site limitations are 100x100 pixels and the Art Team's typical 'limit' size is 90x90 pixels.  Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing would result in cut off sprites, sacrificing quality, or compromising detail. Simple reason: They are too big.
*Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing: The size limitations on Pokéfarm's sprites and the amount of detail needed for the formes make it impossible to implement these while still meeting internal standards for sprite quality.
*Legendary Breeding: That's not how this game works. Getting the rare stuff takes time and effort.
*Legendary Breeding: Legendaries cannot be bred, with few exceptions.
*New Starters:
*New Starters:
**Eevee: Requires too much EXP to hatch for a new player.
**Eevee: Would require too much EXP for a new player to hatch.
*Radiant/Monochrome/Golden/Rainbow Pokémon: These would have to be procedurally generated to even have a hope of getting them all done, and that wouldn't allow us to reach the standard of quality we aim for on PFQ.
*Radiant/Monochrome/Golden/Rainbow Pokémon: This would either put massive strain on the Art Team, or would sacrifice sprite quality during creation.
*Reverse Evolution: Evolution is meant to be irreversible and is this way in the main games.
*Reverse Evolution: Evolution is meant to be irreversible and is this way in the main games.
*Sprite Recoloring Item for Multi-Color Pokémon: Unnecessary. If a player prefers their Pokémon be a specific color, they can trade with other players. Unless you mean Kecleon - in that case you can change its colours in the Salon.
*Sprite Recoloring Item for Multi-Color Pokémon: This is not possible with the current sprite management system. If a player would like a different colored version of their Pokémon, they are able to trade with other users for it.
*Toggle Albino/Melanistic Sprites from Before Revamps: Artists update the sprites as they expand their skills and discover colors that work better than others while also following their consistency rules. Players are free to change which version of a sprite they personally see using their skin's CSS function. PokéFarm will not internally maintain past versions of updated sprites.
*Toggle Albino/Melanistic Sprites from Before Revamps: Players are free to change which version of a sprite they personally see using their skin's CSS function. PokéFarm will not internally maintain past versions of updated sprites.
*Transform Ability: Allowing Pokémon such as Ditto or Zorua to form-change to other Pokémon would be too easily abused in Trading.  Just think of the potential for scams.
*Transform Ability: Allowing Pokémon such as Ditto or Zorua to form-change to other Pokémon would be too easily abused in Trading.

Scours
Scours
*Make Scours More Interesting/Engaging: The main thought pattern for this suggestion was to have the Pokemon come up to different Scenarios where the User would have to Choose what to do.
*Make Scours More Interesting/Engaging: While most every other aspect of the site is based on activity, Scours being "passive" helps balance the site and gameplay styles.
**<u>The rejection reason</u>: Just about everything in the game is based on activity. Scouring is one of the few things that isn't, and that's good for the balance of features and gameplay styles.
*Shorter/Longer Scours: Due to previous experience with issues this caused on PokéFarm 1 (PF1), we will not be reverting to this Scour model.
*Shorter/Longer Scours: ...are part of what broke the Scour system on PF1.  We'd prefer not to repeat that.

Shelter
Shelter
*Additional Adoptions via Means Other that Shelter Passes: The ability to adopt more Pokémon from the Shelter is what the superior Shelter Passes are for.  Adding additional adoptions via purchase by credit or interactions would devalue the Shelter Passes, resulting in a drop in revenue for PFQ.
*Any Additional Filters to Help Find Eggs/Pokémon: No additional filters other than the Black Flute and White Flute are planned, including a way to limit the number or species of Eggs or Pokémon that appear. Users can use the QoL Userscript to filter the Shelter.
*Any Additional Filters to Help Find Eggs/Pokémon: No additional filters other than the Black Flute and White Flute are planned.  This includes filters by species, type, gender, and anything else you can think of. You can also do this with the QoL Userscript.
*Limiting Number/Species of Eggs/Pokémon: This is just another kind of filter.

Trades
Trades
*Allow Users to Trade Fused Pokémon: Cannot be done, for the same reason as why you can't trade them in the official Pokémon games: the fusion data wouldn't be transferred correctly and would lead to issues when unfusing.
*Allow Users to Trade Fused Pokémon: This is not possible for the same reason that players can't trade them in the official Pokémon games: the fusion data wouldn't be transferred correctly, and would lead to issues when unfusing.
*Direct Item Trading: Not feasible without completely redesigning trading.
*Direct Item Trading: This would require a complete re-design of the trading system.
*Egg Trading: Makes things too easy, and huge draw on Sally to make sure slots in the Party are available between Users.
*Egg Trading: Would unbalance the game, and would put additional stress on the server.
*Mass Pokémon Trading: Please stop suggesting this one. Like direct item trading, this would require redesigning the entire trading system. It may happen one day, but trust me, we already have a good idea of what features that redesign should include.
*Mass Pokémon Trading: This would require a complete re-design of the trading system.
*Trade Evolution Site Feature: Trade Evolution has always been a part of Pokemon. User interaction is part of PFQ including Trades. There are rules protecting Trade Evos even if the Pokémon is "lost/traded/delta'd/etc" by another user as long as there is something stating that it was a Trade Evo the mods WILL give the Pokémon back to you.
*Trade Evolution Site Feature: Trade Evolution has always been a part of Pokémon, and therefore will remain a part of PFQ. If a user does not return your Pokémon for any reason, please report it, and your Pokémon will be returned to you by the mods.

*Clickback Button Registering New Pokémon/Eggs in Party: Enormous load on poor Sally.
*Clickback Button Registering New Pokémon/Eggs in Party: This would put enormous strain on the server.
*Hypermode Expiration Reminder: Making it show up less often would make it a less effective reminder, don't you think?

*Add Every User to Random Pokémon on Welcome Page: Limiting this to the Pokémon belonging to Staff Members prevents complaints about 1-clicking.
*Additional Bonuses from Badges: Badges already give a significant boost to EXP.
*Additional Bonuses from Badges: Badges already give a significant boost to EXP.  This is what they were made for.  Also, there is already a Seekrit Hidden Bonus.
*Additional Methods for Gaining Gems: The current methods of gaining Gems via hatching or Trading are sufficient for current needs.

*Editing or Deleting Sent PMs: Forum posts and PMs need to persist for the safety of the players, and to ensure that the Terms of Service are not being violated. Any individual forum post that is deleted is first reviewed by a Moderator.
*Editing or Deleting Sent PMs: Unnecessary and open to abuse.
*Group Chat: Please use the official Discord Server if you would like to have a group chat. PFQ will not be adding additional group chats, as they do not have the means to moderate them all.
*Favorite Friends: This would result in unnecessary drama.  The Friend system has been replaced by the VIP system.
*Make "V~Wave" use each type before repeating: The V~Wave is supposed to be varying and unreliable, therefore it will remain fully random outside of Type Races.
*Group Chat: Please use our official Discord Server if you would like to have a group chat. We will not be adding additional group chats as we would be unable to properly moderate them all.
*New Staff Bonus Counters: There is not room for more bonus counters.
*Make "V~Wave" use each type before repeating: The basic suggestion is to change V~Wave to use each type once in a random order before repeating meaning a type would appear approximately once every 18 days.
*Pausing Hypermode: May be subject to abuse.
**<u>The rejection reason</u>: The V~Wave is supposed to be varying and unreliable, therefore it will remain fully random.
*Rivals: Promotes over-competitiveness.
*New Staff Bonus Counters: There is NO MOAR ROOM.
*Stop Legendary/Mythical/Ultra Beasts PotD: Users hunt these Pokémon just like other Pokémon, and it wouldn't be fair to anyone to not have that boost.
*Pausing Hypermode: Unnecessary and could be subject to abuse.
*Traditional Pokémon Battles: There are no plans to add main-series-style Pokémon battling.
*Rivals: Unnecessary and promotes over-competitiveness.
*Stop Legendary/Mythical/Ultra Beasts PotD: Users hunt these Pokémon just like other Pokémon and it wouldn't be fair to anyone to not have that boost. Just because one person can't hunt them doesn't mean someone else can't either.
*Traditional Pokémon Battles: There are no plans to add main-series-style Pokémon battling to this game.
*Transferring Currency/Items from PF1: This would negatively impact PFQ's economy.
*Transferring Currency/Items from PF1: This would negatively impact PFQ's economy.
*Translating PFQ into Other Languages: This would require too much manpower, and Google Translate is your friend.  Your friend with a heavy accent and mangled syntax, but it mostly works.
*Translating PFQ into Other Languages: This would require both a significant and ongoing investment of time and would drastically increase the difficulty of ensuring the Terms of Service are not being violated.
*Upcoming Features Announcements: Planning and development does not guarantee implementation.  Things go wrong.  Better things come along.  And deadlines are mutable.  In other words, this wouldn't be nearly as useful as one might think and the drama would be inevitable.
*YouTube Subtitles: This would require more manpower than currently possible.
*YouTube Subtitles: As convenient as this would be for those PFQ players who are hard of hearing, PFQ staff do not have excessive amounts of time on their hands to complete this.

The Summary of Non-Actionable Suggestions is a helpful list of any Suggestions that have been Rejected, as updated by the Staff. This page serves to expand on those rejections, and is maintained by users.

If a suggestion is included on this page, it does not automatically mean it will never be considered again. If any user feels that they have an argument that trumps the reason for rejection, particularly if they can show how the benefits would outweigh the drawbacks, please make a new Suggestions thread about it.

Note: This list only includes suggestions that were outright rejected for the reasons listed. It does not include suggestions that were auto-rejected due to lack of player interest, or suggestions unrelated to PFQ.

Berry Garden

  • Automatic Watering: This would decouple effort from reward. The Water All feature already makes it much easier to keep berries watered.
  • Reduce Waiting Time by Watering when it is Wet/Damp: Subject for abuse; users could press the Water Plant button over and over until the berries can be harvested.
  • Plant All: This would decouple effort from reward. The berry-planting process has already been greatly streamlined.

Currencies

  • Additional Methods of Gaining Zophan Canisters/Gold Poké:
  • Currency Trading as an official site function: Users can purchase Credits and Gold Poké with Zophan Canisters. Aside from that, users may trade between themselves for currencies.

DayCare

  • EXP Delay Item: The daycare itself is free to use; the cost of breeding is that Pokémon gain XP.
  • EXP Lock Blocks Daycare EXP: The daycare itself is free to use; the cost of breeding is that Pokémon gain XP.

Events

  • Keep Any Event's Mini-game Permanently: Mini-games will be vaulted and unvaulted to appear in events as something to look forward to for each event.
  • Make Tournament Prize Egg a Target Score: This would destabilize the Tournament rewards system significantly.
  • Story Events Ideas: Due to legal reasons we cannot accept user suggestions for story content. This falls under the same category as user-suggested Pokémon.
  • Type Race Teams: This suggestion has been asked as both Allowing the users to choose their team and "Signup then be assigned a Team. The short answer to these suggestions is No, Every team is equal. It can also be subject for abuse, drama and toxicity.

Fields

  • Allowing an Egg Field for Extra Eggs: Users can only keep eggs in their party; if a user wants more eggs than they can currently carry in their party, they must hatch some first.
  • Disable Pokémon Movement: Unnecessary. If users would like to stop Pokémon in fields from moving, QOL keeps them in place.
  • Feed All Pokémon: This would destabilize the game as a whole, both in terms of server load and gameplay/reward balance.
  • Hiding Fields Once All Pokémon Have Been Clicked: Not necessary for the majority of users, and would prevent users from viewing Pokémon that have already been clicked.
  • Larger Fields: If more space for Pokémon is needed, users must buy another Field or release Pokémon from current Fields.
  • Reduce Cost of Purchasing Fields: Despite the gradual inflation of Pokéfarm's economy, the exponential increase of buying new fields helps maintain game balance.
  • Retain Selected Berry in Next Field: This would be an official promotion of sorting fields by berry.
  • Stack All Pokémon: Field organization is the purview of the player. No particular organization is promoted by PFQ. Users may use skin CSS or the QoL Userscript to do this instead.
  • Unstack All Pokémon: Field organization is the purview of the player. No particular organization is promoted by PFQ. A grid view was introduced to see all Pokémon without actually changing their locations. Users may use skin CSS or the QoL Userscript to do this instead.

Hunting

These Suggestions are in regards to Shiny, Albino, or Melanistic Hunting.

  • Automatic/Guaranteed Melan: If users are guaranteed a Melan at any point in their hunt, they would be deincentivized to charge their Albino Radar.
  • Hereditary Shinies: Eggs from Shiny Pokémon have the same chance to hatch special as Eggs from non-Shiny Pokémon.

Items

  • Add a Drop Chance for Lucky Eggs through Scours or Boxes: This would unbalance the game.
  • Nature Changing Item: This would unbalance a core aspect of the game economy.
  • Rare Candy: PFQ's equivalent is the Cookie, obtainable from Events.
  • Recharging Uber Charms: The ability to recharge Uber Charms would remove revenue from PFQ.

Mobile Users

  • Mobile App: This would require a significant investment of money and time, as the app's development would need to be outsourced.[1]
  • Toggle Auto rotate: Auto-rotate is controlled by a user's phone settings; websites cannot override that setting.

Public Forums

  • Ability to Delete Own Posts: Forum posts and PMs need to persist for the safety of the players, and to ensure that the Terms of Service are not being violated. Any individual forum post that is deleted is first reviewed by a Moderator.[1]
  • Allowing players other than the Original Poster to edit a forum post: This would invite violations of the Terms of Service, particularly if players had a falling out or otherwise disagreed.[1]
  • BBCode to Count Pokémon in Fields: This would put an extremely heavy load on the server in order for the BBCode to return the correct number.
  • Custom Userbars with Pokémon: This would require designing, programming and maintaining several thousand userbar variants.
  • Downvoting: Downvotes will not be added outside of reviews.
  • Extend Journal Deletion Timeframe: Journals last up to 3 months of inactivity, which is significantly longer than normal threads.
  • Granting Thread-Specific Mod Powers to Users: The Mod team goes through an application and approval process, and users are not permitted to "Mini-mod." If a user sees a post that shouldn't be in a thread, they should use the Report button.[2][3]
  • Search Feature: Full Thread Post of Reasons. **Any internal search function would result in additional site lag. Google Search can fulfill this function by entering "site:pokefarm.com" before your search term(s).[1][4]
  • Subscribing to Entire Forums/Sub-Forums: This would put strain on the server and increase server costs significantly.

Party

  • Egg Locking to Prevent Accidental Hatching: Users are shown a warning before hatching an egg that would break their shiny chain. Users may use Egg Passes to hatch eggs that would break their chain.
  • Instant Hatching: Pokéfarm's core mechanic revolves around interacting with other users' eggs and Pokémon; any item that allowed instant hatching would hurt the game experience. The EXP. Share and Egg Timer can be used to boost hatching speed.

Pokémon

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pokéfarm DOES NOT accept player suggestions for new Pokémon designs for legal reasons. This includes Megas, Hybrids, Fusions, Exclusives, Variant, New Evolutions, Custom Sprites, and Beta Pokémon Suggestions.[1]
  • Beta Pokémon: Beta Pokémon's designs were changed before their official release for a reason; as a Pokémon fan site, the Staff feel that it would be disrespectful to go against those reasons.
  • Changing Gender: This would make obtaining rare-gender Pokémon much easier, and unbalance the game. [1]
  • Community polling regarding Pokémon sprites: Sprites will be adjusted and/or recoloured as needed in order to keep up with developments in the Pokémon franchise and in accordance with the growing experience of the Art Team. Implementing community polls regarding these visual updates would adversely affect the ability of the Art Team to output content in a timely manner, without being an effective means of addressing the desires of the community as a whole. [1]
  • Disabling Evolution: Users can give their Pokémon an Everstone to prevent evolution.
  • Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing: The size limitations on Pokéfarm's sprites and the amount of detail needed for the formes make it impossible to implement these while still meeting internal standards for sprite quality. [1]
  • Legendary Breeding: Legendaries cannot be bred, with few exceptions.
  • New Starters:
    • Eevee: Would require too much EXP for a new player to hatch.
  • Radiant/Monochrome/Golden/Rainbow Pokémon: This would either put massive strain on the Art Team, or would sacrifice sprite quality during creation.
  • Reverse Evolution: Evolution is meant to be irreversible and is this way in the main games.
  • Sprite Recoloring Item for Multi-Color Pokémon: This is not possible with the current sprite management system. If a player would like a different colored version of their Pokémon, they are able to trade with other users for it. [5]
  • Toggle Albino/Melanistic Sprites from Before Revamps: Players are free to change which version of a sprite they personally see using their skin's CSS function. PokéFarm will not internally maintain past versions of updated sprites. [1]
  • Transform Ability: Allowing Pokémon such as Ditto or Zorua to form-change to other Pokémon would be too easily abused in Trading.

Scours

  • Make Scours More Interesting/Engaging: While most every other aspect of the site is based on activity, Scours being "passive" helps balance the site and gameplay styles.
  • Shorter/Longer Scours: Due to previous experience with issues this caused on PokéFarm 1 (PF1), we will not be reverting to this Scour model. [1]

Shelter

  • Any Additional Filters to Help Find Eggs/Pokémon: No additional filters other than the Black Flute and White Flute are planned, including a way to limit the number or species of Eggs or Pokémon that appear. Users can use the QoL Userscript to filter the Shelter.

Trades

  • Allow Users to Trade Fused Pokémon: This is not possible for the same reason that players can't trade them in the official Pokémon games: the fusion data wouldn't be transferred correctly, and would lead to issues when unfusing.
  • Direct Item Trading: This would require a complete re-design of the trading system.
  • Egg Trading: Would unbalance the game, and would put additional stress on the server.
  • Mass Pokémon Trading: This would require a complete re-design of the trading system.
  • Trade Evolution Site Feature: Trade Evolution has always been a part of Pokémon, and therefore will remain a part of PFQ. If a user does not return your Pokémon for any reason, please report it, and your Pokémon will be returned to you by the mods.

User Interface

  • Ability to Change Timezone: Keeping PFQ on one universal timezone prevents confusion between players in differing timezones.
  • Additional Notifications: Any suggestions regarding adding more notifications need to explain why the notification would be helpful enough to offset the annoyance of yet more notifications.
  • Clickback Button Registering New Pokémon/Eggs in Party: This would put enormous strain on the server.
  • Hypermode Expiration Reminder: Making it show up less often would make it a less effective reminder.
  • Retain Clickbacks from Previous Day: This would put enormous strain on the server.
  • Tracking Clicks Received from Other Players Over Time: This would put enormous strain on the server. These logs are deleted regularly to free up server space.

Miscellaneous

  • Additional Bonuses from Badges: Badges already give a significant boost to EXP.
  • Additional Methods for Gaining Gems: The current methods of gaining Gems via hatching or Trading are sufficient for current needs.
  • Editing or Deleting Sent PMs: Forum posts and PMs need to persist for the safety of the players, and to ensure that the Terms of Service are not being violated. Any individual forum post that is deleted is first reviewed by a Moderator.[1]
  • Group Chat: Please use the official Discord Server if you would like to have a group chat. PFQ will not be adding additional group chats, as they do not have the means to moderate them all.
  • Make "V~Wave" use each type before repeating: The V~Wave is supposed to be varying and unreliable, therefore it will remain fully random outside of Type Races.
  • New Staff Bonus Counters: There is not room for more bonus counters.
  • Pausing Hypermode: May be subject to abuse.
  • Rivals: Promotes over-competitiveness.
  • Stop Legendary/Mythical/Ultra Beasts PotD: Users hunt these Pokémon just like other Pokémon, and it wouldn't be fair to anyone to not have that boost.
  • Traditional Pokémon Battles: There are no plans to add main-series-style Pokémon battling.
  • Transferring Currency/Items from PF1: This would negatively impact PFQ's economy.
  • Translating PFQ into Other Languages: This would require both a significant and ongoing investment of time and would drastically increase the difficulty of ensuring the Terms of Service are not being violated. [1]
  • YouTube Subtitles: This would require more manpower than currently possible.
