What are Boxes?

An example of the Boxes page.

Boxes are a major aspect of the game and have important impacts in the in-game economy. Boxes are items that can be opened via the Boxes section under Tools section of the Tools/Options page in-game. Boxes may contain either an item or currency, or even nothing at all. Boxes can be found in Scour Areas, bought off of the Market Board, or traded with other users.

What can be found in Boxes?

Boxes, as stated previously, can hold any assortment of items or currencies. The following have been known to show up in Boxes:

Summon Items

Summon Items are only available in boxes, after unlocking them, unless a Lucky Seal is used.

As of February 2015 the chance of receiving rare and ultra rare Summon Items has changed. All summon items now share the same rarity. You have as much chance of finding an item that you have unlocked via the Summons page as you do of any unlocked items. This edit was to prevent cheaters from being able to farm items from boxes by only unlocking one summon and then opening boxes. Minor Updates Thread

<spoiler show="Show further information on receiving Summon Items from boxes" hide="Hide further information"> Summon Items can only be obtained by opening boxes, any Summon item can be found regardless of what has been unlocked. The chances of getting a Summon Item for the first time are relatively high, in retrospective the chance of getting a Summon Item that was already obtained by opening a box is very small.

Essentially, unlocking a Summon Item grants a bonus to finding that specific item until one has been obtained from a box, which resets it to normal chances. Trading for Summon Items with other users will not affect these odds. </spoiler>

Special Boxes

In addition to standard Boxes, there are also two types of special Boxes: a Premium Box and a Lucky Seal.

  • Premium Boxes - A Premium Box is similar to a Box but guarantees at least one valuable item. It can be obtained as a bonus for buying 10,000 Zophan Canisters.
  • Lucky Seal - A Lucky Seal is an item that can be stuck onto a Box. This guarantees a random Summon Item. Single Lucky Seals may be purchased for 100 Zophan Canisters on the boxes page, with discounts for buying multiple.

Big Boxes

There are three other types of Boxes that can be purchased. These three Big Boxes contain further boxes and include:

  • Box Box: a box that contains 21 boxes. It costs 300 Zophan Canisters.
  • Box Box Box: a box that contains 6 Box Boxes (126 boxes total). It costs 1,500 Zophan Canisters.
  • Gragon's Stash: a box that contains 5 Box Box Boxes (630 boxes total). It costs 6,000 Zophan Canisters.

It is also possible to pack 21 Boxes into one Box Box for 5,000 Credits.

Box Types

All boxes have the same description: "A treasure box that is sealed tight. Its contents are a mystery!" There is no functional difference between different boxes, merely aesthetics.
