The Type Race is a monthly Event that was added to PokéFarm on the 1st of August 2017. The Type Race page is located in the "Other Links" section of the Farm page.

Overview

At the beginning of every month, users are randomly assigned to one of 18 teams, each team corresponding to one of the 18 Pokémon Types. Once the 18 teams have all been cycled through, users will repeat the cycle by starting on the first team they had.

Type Race begins on the 2nd Sunday of each month. During the week of the event, users are tasked with hatching Eggs matching their team's Type to score points for their Team. Once the event period ends, prizes are awarded to all eligible participants, with an additional prize for the team that scored the most points overall.

Note: Eggs hatched as part of the Type Race will not break a user's Shiny Chain.

Teams

On the first day of each month, users are assigned a type on their Trainer Card that indicates which Type Race team they are on.

Each team is named after the corresponding Z-Move from the official games and are as follows.

Team Inferno Overdrive
Team Hydro Vortex
Team Gigavolt Havoc
Team Bloom Doom
Team Subzero Slammer
Team All-Out Pummeling

Prizes

To be eligible to receive personal or team prizes, a base score of 200 points must first be obtained. The number of points awarded for each egg hatched depends on the EHP of the egg, with one point awarded for every 5 Egg Cycles needed to hatch (1 point for every 1,280 EXP to hatch).

This event's prizes consist of both a Z-Crystal and Z-Fragments, that are earned by reaching a certain amount of points. Both prizes correspond to the user's type race team. Z-Crystals can be used to boost a user's Albino Radar per type for one day. Seven Z-Fragments can be traded in on the Albino Radar page for a full Z-Crystal.

Up to ten fragments may be earned as a personal goal from the event. These fragments are awarded regardless of whether the Team Goal is reached, as long as 200 points are obtained first. If the Team Goal of 100,000 points is reached, all participants will be awarded an additional Z-Crystal. If the Team Goal is not reached, Z-Fragments will be awarded for each progress bar that the team filled to 100%. The winning team also receives 4 additional fragments of the corresponding type.

Trivia

  • Z-Fragments were added on the 1st of December 2017 as rewards to motivate users to participate beyond their 200-point personal goal.[1].
  • Before the 20th of June 2018:
    • There was a Community-wide Goal of 2,000,000 points instead of the current Team Goal.
    • The Winning Team Prize was a Large Gem.
    • The event originally started on the second Wednesday of the month making it overlap with two Tournaments.
      • The Tournaments were not re-rolled so that they didn't clash horribly with the Type Race.
