Trivia
- Sugarcoatl was named by Zio and designed by QuirkyRabbit, who also named and designed Canduceus. The sprites and colours were done by QuirkyRabbit, AlyssaNights and Novan-chan. The icons were made by Shazi.
- Coatl means both "Snake" and "Twin", hence the basic idea was a two-headed snake. The design was also influenced by the Aztec God Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent.
- Sugarcoat means "to make something seem more pleasant than it is".
- Despite Sugarcoatl's looks, it is a Poison type which is not suitable for young children to be around.
- In fact, it is quite dangerous and challenging to train.
- Sugarcoatl preys on sugary Fairy Pokémon like Slurpuff and Alcremie and that sugar becomes part of its colourful skin, which is a feature of some real-life predatory animals.
- The Caduceus symbol is two snakes wrapped around a staff with wings.
- In Canduceus' design, the wings are on the Pokémon, not the stick.
- Each of Candceus' heads controls one wing, and a high degree of coordination is required to fly, so it only evolves if the heads can work together.
