Humbee
This Pokémon fiercely guards territory where its food can be found. Despite its small size, it won't hesitate to attack larger creatures - even humans in their own gardens.
Name origin: A combination of the words humming and bee.
Hummagona
It uses its sharp beak as a sword to fight others over the nectar of flowers and trees. Males fluff up their bright feathers to try to impress females.
Name origin: A combination of the words humming and patagona.
Trivia
- The Humbee Line was conceptualized and sprited by Novan-chan with help from AlyssaNights for the colors.
- The Humbees Line was originally presented in early 2019.
- Its design was updated around 2022, due to its original design resembling too closely to Pikipek.
- Originally, the Female Humbee was meant to be a Mint with blue eyes, a flip of the Male's colours.
- Hummagona didn't have a colour difference, instead mixing Humbee's colours, having Red eyes, and the female having a longer beak.
- Brown was picked over Green for the female Humbee when revising the line.
- AlyssaNights presented the suggestion of both Male and Female having different eye colours.
- The long tail feathers seen on Male Hummagona weren't added until its sprites were made.
- Novan-chan had wanted to add just something a little bit more to it aside from colour.
- The same thing can be said for the dark back pattern, just wanting to add more to Hummagona's design.
- Novan-chan wanted the female to be noticeably duller than the male.
- Humbee is based on Bee Hummingbirds, the tiniest known hummingbird.
- Hummagona is based on a combination of different hummingbirds, primarily the Giant Hummingbird, Long-Tailed Sylphs, and Racket-Tail hummingbirds.
- Patagona is the genus of which Giant Hummingbirds are the only members.
- Hummagona was originally planned to be a Fighting/Flying type, in reference to, the fact that hummingbirds are quite territorial and fight others for food.
