Pokémon Info
Egg
Kyutopi
Self-aware of its adorableness, it uses this to exploit its Trainer and get whatever it wants. It can even charm predators to avoid being eaten.
Name origin: A corruption of the word cute and the ending -topi from octopi. It's also a play on the phrase cutie pie.
Konatus
Upon evolving, many Trainers claim they lose their novelty and abandon them. Because of this, it secludes itself in a large fake Poké Ball. It longs for attention.
Name origin: A corruption of the word coconut, in reference to the coconut octopus, and the ending -atus in Marginatus, the species name of the coconut octopus.
Trivia
- The first part of the names Kyutopi and Konatus, Kyu and Kon respectively, form Kyukon when combined, which is the Japanese word for Ninetales.
- Sei created the name for Kyutopi, while Novan-chan created the name for Konatus.
- Other names suggested for Kyutopi included Pokiken (pocket kraken) by Sei, Skwiddlett by Ledah, and Flaptopus by Bananalizard.
- The reason Kyutopi evolves with low happiness is that it's meant to represent the fear Kyutopi has about losing its cuteness, and thus the favour of others, when it evolves.
- The normal Konatus resides in a regular Poké Ball, while the Shiny has a Great Ball, the Albino has an Ultra Ball, and the Melanistic has a Master Ball.
