Gems are a rare item that you can find when hatching Eggs.

Obtaining Gems

Each time an egg is hatched, users have a chance of receiving a gem along with the hatched Pokémon. Each gem's type depends on the type of Pokémon that is hatched; if a Pokémon is dual typed, the gem will always be the Pokémon's first type, unless Ravyne's Bonus Counter is active. Ravyne's counter becomes active after the site hatches 99,000 eggs, and affects the amount of gems obtained by a random multiplier.

The formula for your chance to find a Gem by hatching an egg is as follows: <spoiler show="Open for Formula" hide="Close Spoiler">Chance = Eggs Hatched * 0.1 % </spoiler>

Usage

Gems can be sold for ₢10 apiece in the Shop and currently do not have any other function, other than as a collectible.

Niet and many other members of the staff have hinted that gems will play a major part in a "secret feature" that has yet to be released to the public. Niet officially confirmed this, and also revealed that gems would also be used for Secret Bases, an old feature from PF1. [1]
