Experience, or EXP, is what a Pokémon or Egg gains when interacted with. It helps eggs hatch and Pokémon reach the next level. The EXP needed to hatch certain eggs depends on the species of the egg, as well as the rarity of said species of Pokémon. The experience needed to level up Pokémon depends on their EXP group. All boosts mentioned below are able to function at the same time and as a consequence do stack.

Site-wide Boosts

Niet's Bonus

Niet's Bonus Counter gives a boost up to x3 EXP when activated.

V-Wave

The V~Wave gives a 50% increase to all EXP gained by any Pokémon who's type matches the type that the V~Wave is that day. So, if the V~Wave is Fire, then all Fire types will gain a 50% bonus to all EXP gained. The V~Wave page shows the type it currently is that day, and the types that it will be for the following 4 days.

Userbar Boosts

Hypermode

Hypermode is a Account Upgrade that gives the user a 40% EXP boost.

Helper Userbar

The Wiki Editor Userbar grants the user a 10% EXP bonus.

Temporary Boosts

Lucky Eggs

Lucky Eggs give a certain amount of experience for each interaction made, however with a time limit of 20 minutes. It gives 2 EXP for each interaction, with a limit of 50,000 EXP. They are all affected by Niet's Bonus, meaning that Niet's bonus will affect the EXP given to the Pokémon, and can be overwritten if two are used at the same time, or if the user activates one before the other timer is up. The Lucky Egg costs 160, and lasts for 20 minutes. Users can also purchase 10 Lucky Eggs for 1,280, and 30 for 2,880. The Lucky Egg gives two EXP for each interaction, with a limit of 50,000 EXP. The Super Lucky Egg costs 290 and lasts for 60 minutes. Users can also purchase 10 Super Lucky Eggs for 1,280, or 30 for 2,880. It gives 6 EXP for each interaction, with a limit of 200,000 EXP The EXP gained from Lucky or Super Lucky Eggs does not count towards any bonus counters.

Pokérus

Pokérus is a beneficial virus that is passed between users every 15 minutes, only those who have clicked the host, and have been online in the past hour, are capable of contracting it. Each interaction made with the Pokérus holder gives the user a "point", and at the end of the Pokérus duration, all of the points made by all the users are put into a draw. The more interactions a user makes toward the current Pokérus holder, the higher the chance of contracting it. All interactions, even those made before the host contracts Pokérus, count towards the draw. After Pokérus passes to another user, the previous host cannot contract it for an hour. Users that have Pokérus will receive x2 EXP on all of their Pokémon clicked during the duration, and x2 the amount of interaction points for each interaction that they make. In the event that no user has interacted with the current holder, it will be sent to a random staff member, and continue as normal from there.
