The Shelter keeps all Pokémon and Eggs that were either released by their Trainer or from the DayCare. There are even some Eggs that can't be found in the Lab itself!
Just try it out: Adopt an Egg from the Shelter and visit the Party page with the Pokémon that hatches from within it!
