For example, A can't find a eevee as they're very hard to find (Oh, the irony) so he asks B if they can dextrade their eevee. B says sure, but you will have to give me 10GP. B then offers their eevee to A and A sends the 10GP over and takes the eevee and shortly after gives it back. He then doesn't have to get an eevee himself as he has it in his P0k3Dex. | |||

Not all trades are permanent, you can also do a DexTrade. This is a temporary trade that is done so a user can gain a dex entry without buying the Pokémon, the Pokémon then gets traded back to its owner. This way you can fill up your PokéDex a lot faster for less money.
For example, A can't find a eevee as they're very hard to find (Oh, the irony) so he asks B if they can dextrade their eevee. B says sure, but you will have to give me 10GP. B then offers their eevee to A and A sends the 10GP over and takes the eevee and shortly after gives it back. He then doesn't have to get an eevee himself as he has it in his P0k3Dex.
