The Shelter is a location where users may adopt Pokémon that have been released by their previous owner, or take Eggs which have been released from the DayCare. Users may access the Shelter any time from the NavBar.

Note: Releasing a Pokémon will not affect a user's PokéDex.

Using the Shelter

Users may adopt Pokémon or Eggs that have been released by other users. Upon entering the Shelter, a user will see a page full of Pokémon and Eggs that they can choose from. Once a Pokémon or Egg is chosen either one of two things will happen. If the Pokémon or Egg has been registered into the user's PokéDex then the name of it will appear. If the Pokémon or Egg has not been registered into the user's PokéDex then it will say "Pokémon" or "Egg". Users then can click either "View/Adopt" or "Hide". Clicking Hide will hide the chosen Pokémon/Egg until the user refreshes their Shelter page. Clicking View/Adopt will show a popup with information about the chosen Pokémon or Egg.

If a user decides there is no Pokémon or Egg that they wish to adopt in the current group then they may choose to Reload. There are three choices to Reload the group that is showing. Reload will load another group of both Pokémon and Eggs, White Flute will load a group of just Pokémon, and Black Flute will load a group of just Eggs. The Flutes have to be purchased first before they can be used.

The amount of adoptions a user can make depends on the user's Shelter Budget and the Adoption Cost.

Adoption Costs

Each Pokémon and egg costs a different amount of points to adopt, depending on if the user already has the Pokémon or egg in their PokéDex. Users can tell if an Egg or Pokémon is "known" because it will show you its name when you select it. "Unknown" ones will just show "Egg" or "Pokémon". Known means the user has the Pokémon or Egg registered in their PokéDex.

Pokémon Egg
In PokéDex 1 point 2 points
Not In PokéDex 4 point 6 points

Upgrades

Shelter Upgrades.

There are several Shelter Upgrades available for Gold Poké (GP) or Zophan Canisters (ZC) located on the Shelter page.

Flutes

Flutes are a permanent upgrade that can be purchased for 500 each. Each Flute affects how the Shelter reloads.

  • White Flute: Attracts Pokémon, causing the next shelter page to contain only hatched Pokémon.
  • Black Flute: Repels Pokémon, causing the next shelter page to contain only eggs. Additionally, the Black Flute has a chance of ensuring that the Egg a user is Shiny Hunting will appear, if one exists in the Shelter.

When a user is chaining a Pokemon, the Flutes tab will show how many the user has hatched and the percentage that a chained Egg will show.

Shelter Passes

Shelter Passes allow users to adopt Pokémon and Eggs from the Shelter. There are currently six levels: C, B, A, S, X and ★. A Shelter Pass C is given to the user after completing the tutorial and each further level grants more adoptions per day. Users must have the previous Shelter Pass in their inventory to be able to purchase the next Shelter Pass from the Shelter. E.G. If a user has a Shelter Pass C they can buy Shelter Pass B but cannot buy Shelter Pass A without first owning Shelter Pass B. However, any pass can be purchased from other players on the Market or through Trade. Users can use any pass that they have even if they have not unlocked it. Unlocking a Shelter Pass allows the user to buy the pass through the Shelter.

Only the highest pass counts for adoptions. The amount of adoptions does not stack when owning multiple passes.

Shelter Pass Level Budget without Shelter Budget Boost Budget with Shelter Budget Boost Cost Unlocked After
Shelter Pass C 10 15 - Tutorial
Shelter Pass B 20 30 40 20 adoptions
Shelter Pass A 40 60 200 100 adoptions
Shelter Pass S 80 120 800 400 adoptions
Shelter Pass X 160 240 2,400 1,200 adoptions
Shelter Pass ★ 240 360 1,000 2,500 adoptions

Shelter Budget Vouchers

A Shelter Budget Voucher is located in the Passes tab. They are a single-use item that boosts the user's Shelter Budget for the current day by +10%. Each voucher costs 50,000 Interaction Points. Up to 5 vouchers can be used in a day which gives up to a +50% Budget boost.

Shelter Budget Vouchers stack multiplicatively with other boosters, such as the Shelter Budget Boost and Shazi's Bonus.

Changing your active Shelter Pass, either by buying a new one or trading one, will cause the budget boost to be recalculated.

Shelter Budget Boost

The Shelter Budget Boost gives a passive +50% boost to a user's Adoption Budget. It can be earned for free by reaching the Grandmaster Rank.

Shelter Boost

When chaining a Pokémon, a hidden Shelter Boost applies. Each time a user reloads the shelter, there is a chance that one of the eggs is replaced with an egg that they're hunting, if it exists. This boost starts at chain 1 and caps at chain 100, with a boost of 50%. In the Flutes tab, a user may view what percentage their chain is yielding.
