Bans or 'Locks' are disciplinary actions that may be placed on a PokéFarm account for any length of time. If a user is banned they may not be able to access certain parts of the site or the entire site itself.

Reasons

Bans are given in order to make sure the site rules are followed. They will be given for any rule breaking or otherwise unruly or unnecessary behaviour displayed by a user on the site. Bans may be discussed but the information will not be made public by the staff unless the offender has broken a severe rule. On Modwatch users can see when users get bans but cannot see the name or reason except in certain circumstances. Users can be given bans for any of the following reasons:

  • Breaks the site rules.
  • Purposefully acts annoying.
  • Begs for clicks (or Click-Begging).
  • Wastes the time of a staff member.
  • A moderator needs to contact a user.

What to do if Banned

If a user discovers they are banned, they may contact a moderator to discuss the issue, or they can send in a support ticket at the Support Centre. Users may be unbanned when their allocated ban time runs out, or if the issue can be worked out with a moderator. Users should ensure they do not break the rule again and should be respectful to moderators when discussing the issue.

Types of Bans

There are five types of bans or locks that may be placed on a user's account. Users may also have specific privileges removes, such as not being able to apply for clans.

Site Ban (Site Lock)

A user may get a full-site ban if they break a rule. The user will not be able to play on the site for as long as the ban is in place. The length depends on the severity of the rule broken.

Mute (or de-voice/Forum Lock)

This prevents a user with the ban from posting in forums or editing posts. The user may view the forums, however, and can still send PMs.

Trade Lock

The user cannot participate in trades with this lock in place.

PM Lock

The user cannot send messages. Use the Support Centre to contact a moderator.

Chat Lock

The user may not use the site chat.
