Did you notice that the Lab doesn't show you the names of Eggs you haven't hatched yet? This way you can easily find Eggs that you're still missing for your PokéDex! The Shelter does a similar thing. If you hover over unknown Eggs in the Shelter it will just provide you with the information "Egg" instead of what species hatches from it.
