Talk:Rules

Considering that the whole staff (especially Garthic) has put months of work into writing, rewriting and rewording the Rules thread, I'm a bit miffed that the content was just completely copy/pasted and reformatted to match the Wiki's layout. So if you think something's not clear enough, feel free to elaborate on it! Heck, you can even use the Rules Discussion thread to back up what you're saying, so that others won't have to flip through it again and/or repeat a question. -- Eltafez (talk)

New page for Thread Rules?

To add on what Eltafez said, explaining the rules further would make this page even longer (and to me, it is already pretty long and might scare people off from reading it) but there are some thread rules missing. Trades already got their own section at the bottom of the page, but Contests, Misc. Pokémon, Forum Games (in the thread Reminder for Forum Games) and Miscellaneous have also their special rules. Also in the Mature forums there are rules in Discussion (counting as rules for the whole Mature forum), RP, FF and Art. Adding all these at the bottom of an already long page would kinda go overhead. So shouldn't them all be on another page? I thought about Thread Rules or some name along the lines, I'm not good at naming. And should the Mature Forum Rules be there, too? --Uzumi (talk)

I tend to agree with that. The Rules page is a very long page and adding to it could be too much. Moving the rules relating to Forums to a name page would be best in my eyes. Maybe simply naming it "Forum Rules" would do. But try to get a few more answers before you go ahead to do this since it is a relatively major change. -Lugia101101 (talk) 08:12, 5 July 2014 (BST)

With so many types of rules, I think this page should be cut back a little so that it becomes a brief outline of all of the rules. Then have each section link to a page that details each rule set. -Zephyr Foxworth (talk) 15:57, 5 July 2014 (BST)

Hm, like the Inventory? I'm not sure if this would work here. There is already the short version (Adventure Version), adding a kinda long version but not really and then linking to a really long version might be a bit too much? I also see the problem when one of the rules change that it could cause confusion if one of the three places aisn't altered according to it. Rewriting the Rules Page

As it states in the ToDo, it's currently just a copy-paste of the Rules thread. Shall we change it to sort of a page with "The Rules are blahblah... etc." and a table containing links to all of the rules for the various rule posts?
